I've been offered full time work to do a project for my department for two different campuses. It's a big project and I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing. the great thing is that I can work from home for a part of it. I have to determine medium to large business training needs and create certificate programs and training seminars to meet their needs. And, if possible, create contract training for individual companies. All for implementation for September. I know I can do it - just have to figure out where I'm going to start!

We're heading to West Edmonton Mall in March and the kids are so excited. They can't believe that there is actually a waterslide and an amusement mark in a MALL. Who would even think of something as crazy as that? I'm just excited for the shopping aspect. Although the trip there and back, maybe not so. We'll get to see if the DVD player in the van really is entertaining for a 10 hour trip. And to think that I was a mom who thought that using television for entertainment was a horrific thing. Obviously my opinion changed after three kids! LOL

Speaking of movies, we went to see Happy Feet at the second run movie theatre this morning. Very cute movie but if anyone thinks that a seal with sharp fangs chasing after a poor defenseless penguin is a form of children's entertainment, they're a sick puppy. I don't think Linden is going to sleep through the night for the next week. Heck, even my best friend was a bit scared through the whole scene. And the scene where Mumble and Gloria act out a various of sexual positions - wow. Good thing that my kids only would think the penguins are slipping around on the ice. Which of course, that's what they were doing. It's my dirty mind and many other dirty minds out there that saw that!

Here's a picture of me wearing Te Rosada. I found a hole along the bottom front edge, near a seam. I have no clue what happened or how it got there. I'm assuming that the washing machine snagged the yarn. I fixed it, amazingly enough, by split slicing the ends and then darning it. Close up, you can see where I fixed it, but over all, it wasn't that bad of a fix. It's a horrific picture, but it works for now.

I'm now back to working almost full time. Will be doing that until the end of March. The other program administrator is away on an extended holiday until then and I've picked up her programs while she's gone. It's a crazy time, but being winter, what else am I going to do?

We took the kids x-country skiing today again. For the first time, Linden was on a pair of skis. He was so funny! It took us about 1.5 hrs to do a .5 km route, but we did it. And so did he. Although, I think it was easier pulling him in the pulk than helping him ski.

Speaking of Linden, he was seen by the pediatrician last week. She feels that his developmental delays are simply that - developmental delays. However, to be completely sure, he's going to be assessed by a psychologist to rule out autism and we are going to complete some genetic testing to rule out other genetic disorders. I am hoping it's simply developmental delays but I am also very worried. There are worse things that could happen to my baby boy but I'd rather have him not have to deal with any of this. I would much prefer that he was a perfect happy little boy with no issues whatsoever.

I was looking at Cole today at supper and wondering whatever happened to my 3 year old readheaded little boy? He's going to be 9 in a few weeks - wow, how does time fly. I know that, very soon, I'll be looking at a man and wondering where my baby went. Makes me realize that I need to appreciate the time I do have with the kids. They grow up too quickly.

I have to get used to typing 2007 rather than 2006. It's a bit strange still.

Mom is home and doing well. She has to stay off her feet for a week so won't be back to work until next Monday. It's driving her nuts but at least she loves to read. I told her it's too bad that she doesn't knit. She'd get a whole sweater done this week.

My sister and her fiance came over last night and we played Wizard. What an addicting game. Friends of ours introduced it to us in November and I found the game at a local toy store. We played it last night and it's so much fun. If you're into card games, this is the game to play! What's even better is that I did get to knit while playing. I can do two things at once afterall. I'm working on a plain pair of socks for me in Austermann Step. I've worn out a pair of socks I made a few years ago. The entire sole of both socks is paper thin. No holes yet but I can see my toes through the yarn.

Heading to Sovereign Lake again today to go x-country skiing. This time we're taking the kids. Going to be interesting!

Happy New Year! It's already been a busy year and we're only 5 days into it. My mom broke her ankle on Wednesday morning and had surgery on it last night. It was thought she needed ligament repair and a plate and screws. Turned out all she needed was one screw. She should be home later today, which is great.

I have two FO's already for this year! I knit up a toque for me on New Year's day with some Kureyon I had. I absolutely love it. I was going to take a picture of me wearing it this morning, but considering I'm still in my pj's, it's not going to happen.

I also finished Te Rosada, which is a sweater I've been working on for ages! I thought I had lots to do on it, but it turned out it was just two seams I needed to sew. It sat in my knitting basket for months before I finished it on Wednesday. Not very smart.

I bought myself a pair of x-country skiis after Christmas. I really want to get back into skiing and make it a family thing to do. I've gone skiing three times this week already (holidays are great!). I took my dad up for his birthday on Tuesday and went night skiing last night with a friend of mine. It was beautiful once the blizzard and gale force winds died down. We're going to try it as a family on Sunday - should be interesting!

We went for a hike on New Year's Day. Walked up the hill behind my parents' place to the water reservoir in the hills behind. It was freezing cold but we had a blast. Nothing like drinking hot chocolate in the snow.
